Book Review - The Best Seller She Wrote (Ravi Subramanian)

About the Book
He was a bestseller… She wanted him to make her one.

Paperback king, Aditya Kapoor’s life is straight out of a modern man’s fantasy. His literary stardom is perfectly balanced by a loving wife and a spectacular career. With everything he touches turning to gold, Aditya is on a winning streak.

Shreya Kaushik is a student with a heart full of ambition. Young, beautiful, and reckless, Shreya speaks her mind and obsessively chases after what she wants. And what she wants is to be a bestselling author.

What happens when their worlds collide? Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Can real ambition come in the way of blind passion? Can trust once broken, be regained?

Master storyteller Ravi Subramanian, delves into the glitzy world of bestsellers and uncovers a risky dalliance between a superstar novelist and his alluring protégé.

The Bestseller She Wrote is a combustible cocktail of love, betrayal and redemption.

What I think about the book !
Not many times do I sit with a book and finish it end to end in a go. When I do so, there are two reasons - one, the book is too good and keeps me stuck to itself and the second is when I just need to finish it off. This book is a bit different.

Aditya is a famous author and an IIM passout. He has an almost-too-good-to-be-true life. He is a perfect father, a perfect husband, a best seller novel writer and has a great job as a banker. He is loved by all and has a fabulous wife, who stands by him through thick and thin. He is confronted by Shreya when he gives a speech in the college and they disagree over the representation of novels as a product. Shreya makes it up to Aditya by reading his books and meeting him over during a book reading session. And they eventually fall in love. Aditya's conscience mocks him as he had a perfect life otherwise too... but Shreya has all the right moves to keep him hooked on to her. He helps her write a best selling novel when she brings his personal and professional life to a stand still.

The book proceeds to show Shreya in the negative light when she is too selfish to be launched by Aditya and goes on to the extremes of black mailing him to get her job done. In between of no where, Aditya's wife gets Ebola! Now this is too extreme... and when she is on her dying bed Aditya feels bad about falling for Shreya. The climax is entangled , cut out straight from a Bollywood movie... when suddenly the hero's best friend is the one helping the villain, Shreya in this case, to ruin the hero's life. But at the end, the family ends up together - a happy family, after all it's not the end if it's not happy!!

No more spoilers, get your hands on the book to read it. It is a light read, will keep you hooked on, but don't expect too much from it. Short chapters , some well described characters and a good but predictable ending!
