Book Review :- TANTRA

I love vampire stories.
The craze for the super natural started from Harry Potter moved on to Twilight and has now come to "Tantra", our very own desi version of vampires!!

Overview of the book :-

Anu is a leather wearing, no-nonsense professional guardian with a reputation for killing the most dangerous vampires in New York City. But when her enemies murder the one person she truly cared about, all she wants is vengeance. The only clue points to New Delhi, so Anu puts in for a job transfer.

In India, she finds more than she expected. For one thing, her fellow operatives have made a truce with the vampires. For another, it’s way too hot to wear leather.

At first, it seems Anu’s biggest challenge will be evading the nice boys her aunt wants her to marry. But when children start disappearing, she discovers forces older and darker than anything she’s faced before. All of Delhi is in danger, especially the sexy stranger who sets Anu’s pulse racing.

To prepare for the coming battle, Anu must overcome her personal demons and put aside years of training. This time, her most powerful weapon will come from her mind, not her weapons belt.

My take on it :-

This is my first book review and I am so happy I got this book.

It is a light, must-read book. Anu, who is the heroine is a professional vampire killer. She takes a transfer from New York and heads to New Delhi to search for a vampire who killed the love of her life. But Delhi has a lot of surprises!! It takes her a lot of time to understand the system, to believe that the other members of his group have actually befriended the vampires and have mutually decided rules. On the personal front, she has to shift from the oh-so-chic girl to a "Delhi girl" who needs to wear the conventional Punjab suit.

Anu is a perfect blend of the typical 21st century girl ,if you keep apart the vampire killing. She has a will of her own and knows what she needs from her life. Her character is beautifully portrayed. The oh-so-over-friendly Amit, who is apparently another guardian and the only one in Delhi,Chandra, the stick-to-my-rules head of the vampire clan in Delhi, Anu's aunt who is adamant on her getting married ,Gaurav who is in love with Anu, Baba Senaka the powerful villian,Dr Sharma who teaches Anu how to fight the evil forces- every character is perfectly woven in the track.

The movie gently twists from Anu's professional life to her personal life as her aunt looks for a "PERFECT" match for her. She has to juggle between her career and life but then it aint that simple -

Then begins the rain of surprises...
Its not just vampires... there are old and dark forces that make Anu beat her own fears and fight, fight to save the world from the bad-guy tantric Baba Senaka. The narratives are good and I dint feel like keeping the book down.I loved reading the fight sequences, the flying shifts and the knives!!

Get your hands on it people!!
Light and nice, just the perfect blend!

Cheers Adi... I am waiting for the sequel, I really wanna know what happened to Brian's killer and Chandra and the romance kindling between Anu-Gaurav , Smiti-Amit..

Waiting....
